RocketNote ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related web services.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information (email address and user ID) created during sign-up
- Notes, text content, flashcards, study progress, and folder structures
- Camera images captured for AI problem solving ("Solves")
- Voice and audio recordings used for note audio features
- Support communications when you contact our team
- Subscription and transaction data handled through RevenueCat (we do not store credit card or billing details)
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information (device type, OS version, hardware model)
- App usage diagnostics and crash reports to improve stability
- Sync metadata (timestamps, item IDs) for cloud synchronization
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information strictly to:
- Provide, maintain, and core features of RocketNote
- Process multimodal camera images and audio through the Google Gemini API for problem solving and note generation
- Synchronize your notes across devices via Supabase cloud infrastructure
- Process subscription purchases and paywalls via RevenueCat
- Respond to user support requests and account management inquiries
3. Data Storage, AI Processing & Security
Offline-First Storage
RocketNote operates on an offline-first architecture. Your notes, flashcards, and local files are stored directly on your device using local storage mechanisms (AsyncStorage and device file systems).
Cloud Synchronization
When connected to an account, your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and synchronized securely with Supabase databases using Row-Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure only you have access to your content.
AI Data Handling (Google Gemini API)
When utilizing AI-powered features such as multimodal "Solves" or automated note processing, relevant inputs (such as problem images or text) are submitted to the Google Gemini API. This data is processed strictly to fulfill your request and is not stored or used to train public AI models.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share data only with essential third-party service providers required to run the app:
- Supabase: Cloud database, user authentication, and secure data sync
- Google Gemini API: Multimodal problem solving and note processing
- RevenueCat: Subscription management and store receipt validation
- Apple App Store & Google Play Store: Application distribution and purchase processing
5. Account & Data Deletion Policy
In compliance with Apple App Store and Google Play Store policies, you have complete control over your data:
- In-App Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data directly inside the app by navigating to
Settings > Account > Delete Account. - Web Deletion Request: If you cannot access the app, you may submit a direct account and data deletion request by emailing contact@rocketnote.app with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" from your registered email address.
Upon account deletion, all account records, synchronized notes, flashcards, and cloud metadata are permanently purged from our primary databases within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
RocketNote is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
